A week on the water

It's wednesday so I must be in Roche Harbor.
What glorious weather we have had for our jaunt up into the Gulf Islands. We're obviously back in American waters now, but the last few days have been quite lovely. After a stop in Ganges for the saturday craft market, we headed out to two new anchorages: Princess Cove up along the Trincomalli Channel and Tod Inlet which is down the Saanich Inlet and next to Butchart Gardens. Both locations were amazing. Princess Cove is on Wallace Island, a marine park with trails and great kayaking - oh, and don't forget the overflowing crabpots. Tod Inlet, tucked back behind a curving entrance had the warmest water in the sound which gave S. a chance to swim with the jellyfish.
My father is along for the ride. Its his first time out with us on the boat and has had a great time living the boating life (it's like an RV and marinas are like campgrounds) as well as helping with the myraid projects that pop up like bad fuel, odd electrical issues and unloading kayaks.
I've read three novels and haven't thought about my paper since turning it in last thursday. I'm aware that today is the first of August which means that I need to start getting organized for my testing that begins end of this month. I've done very little processing or thinking - I've been playing texas hold 'em and cooking shellfish. Life is good :)
There are some dark clouds on the horizon - some rumbles of thunder that I'll have to share later. Right now, however, here where I can do little about those kinds of things, I'll wait and see what happens. I'll enjoy the beautiful weather and check my crabpots tomorrow.
