Fiddling with the Blog

I had some time this morning to actually see what Blogger had added to it's line up of gadgets and links - and you can see that I decided to add a couple in.

Blogging is a rather strange pastime, really. My dad and I were talking about it on our trip. He was amazed at how many people write about their private lives and put it out on the Internet for the world to see. Is it ego? A strange, lonely bid for someone to hear the voice of the writer? Or is it simply an outlet for those of us who love to use words - or a way to maintain contact with people that we don't see?

I'm not sure what my motivations are. I could say - all of the above. All I know is that I love to write. I love trying to capture moments of life in words much as someone might try to do that with a camera. It is always an exercise of -well -trying. The attempt to make vivid just how complex living is. The past, the dreams, the perceptions - all that goes into my response to a given moment.

So, that's what it is for me - at least for right now.

You may also notice I've added in some new books to my amazon carousel. I love these little gadgets! And, if you are interested in buying any of them - if you click on the title and it goes to amazon - I get a percentage of the sale. This money will be earmarked for Hopelink of Seattle.

Ladies - check out the new Life Organizer by Jennifer Louden. I love this! It is chalk full of reminders that claiming the fullness of our lives is so important.

Happy Fall!
