Turning twelve

Well... twelve years ago, right now, down in Bellevue, I held a perfectly beautiful little baby girl to my chest. She was wrapped in blankets, a small cap on her fuzzy head and every now and then she opened her eyes to stare rather shortsightedly up at me. Tiny toes and fingers - rosy cheeks and a button nose. I welcomed her into the world with love and joy. My baby girl.

She's five foot seven now. Full of sass and pride and dreams. Perfect in her uniqueness. And I love all that she is - all the ages that she has been. I can see the baby, the toddler, the small hand still tucked in mine. I can still feel her growing in my belly. I remember the dream that told me her name. So many sweet memories, childhood moments that stand out like snapshots in my mind. I am so proud and feel so blessed.

The joy and love continue...
